Quick to set up

Inflate the dinosaur (an electric air pump makes this much faster), place it on a flat patch of lawn clear of hard edges, connect the hose adaptor and turn on the tap. Adjust the water pressure to change the size of the spray.

Kinder to the lawn than a pool

Unlike a paddling pool, a sprinkler does not leave standing water on the grass for hours. Move it to a new spot each time you use it and the lawn gets a drink while the kids cool off. Its height also means older children stay interested, not just toddlers.
