HEX BOTS Flash Nano - Light-Up Robotic Bug | Assorted

The HEXBUG Flash Nano is a micro robotic bug that moves on its own using vibration technology. It scurries across hard surfaces, rights itself when it flips over, and lights up as it runs. Each one is sold singly in assorted street-art inspired designs, and the battery is included. Suitable for ages 3 and over.

How it moves

There is no remote and nothing to steer. A small motor vibrates the body, and angled plastic legs convert that vibration into forward movement, so the Nano behaves like a real insect finding its way around a room. Drop it on a kitchen floor or a tabletop and it will explore every edge and corner until you switch it off.

The Flash version is a redesign of the original Nano: the body is 1.5 times longer, it moves at roughly twice the speed, and a built-in LED lights the surface underneath as it travels. It shows best with the lights down.

Ways to play

• Race two or more against each other across a smooth floor
• Build an obstacle course from books, rulers and boxes
• Run them through marble run tracks and tubes
• Add HEXBUG jelly walls and habitat sets to make an enclosed arena (sold separately)

A reliable low-price impulse buy

At this size and price the Flash Nano does the job that pocket-money toys are meant to do. It works straight out of the packet, it needs no setup, and the assorted designs encourage collecting. For a shop counter or a party bag it is one of the easier items to sell without explanation, because the demonstration takes two seconds.
