Primal Hatch Jurassic 2.0 is an interactive hatching dinosaur that starts as an egg and has to be earned. Kids care for the egg, respond to what it does, and eventually hatch a dinosaur that then reacts to how it is handled. It is the successor to the original Primal Hatch, with expanded interaction in the 2.0 release.

The hatch is the moment

Everything before the hatch is anticipation, and that is deliberate. The egg gives feedback — sound and movement — so the child knows something is happening in there and comes back to it. When it finally opens, the reveal lands the way opening a present does, except the child feels responsible for it. That is a stronger hook than a dinosaur straight out of the box.

What happens after hatching

The dinosaur becomes a pet. Kids feed it, play with it and learn which responses it gives to which actions, which is where the second and third weeks of play come from. Age, batteries and care

Recommended for ages 5 years and over. Contains small parts and is not suitable for children under 3 years. Check the packaging for battery requirements before gifting. Keep away from water and do not immerse. Clean the shell and dinosaur with a dry or barely damp cloth only. Remove batteries if storing for an extended period.
