The package service was founded in San Francisco in 1969 as a company for transporting valuables: Back then the three founders delivered freight documents from ships, and other important documents by aeroplane from San Francisco to Honolulu. The first letters of their surnames provided the company name: Adrian Dalsey, Larry Hillblom and Robert Lynn . Naturally DHL and its characteristic delivery vehicles are essential too in the toy cities and villages of every playroom, where they busily collect and deliver letters, parcels, and packages.
