The LEGO Jurassic World Spinosaurus Dinosaur Escape (77982) is an 820-piece set for ages 9 and up, recreating a scene from Jurassic Park III around a fully brick-built Spinosaurus in red and grey. It is the largest of the five Jurassic World play sets released in August 2026, and the only one built for older children.
Unlike the moulded dinosaur figures in the smaller sets, this Spinosaurus is constructed from individual elements. Its jaw opens, and the head, arms, legs and tail all move, giving it a wide range of poses.
Building the creature from bricks is a large part of why the piece count is higher than the rest of the wave, and it is also what makes the model hold up as a display piece once play is over.
Alan Grant and Billy Brennan are both included, which grounds the set firmly in Jurassic Park III rather than the wider Jurassic World continuity. The motorcycle gives them a way out once the enclosure is breached.
The LEGO Builder app supports the build with 3D instructions and progress tracking, useful on a set of this size.
The pick of the wave for an older child or an adult fan who wants a brick-built dinosaur rather than a moulded one. It suits Jurassic Park III fans specifically, and stands on its own as a display model without the rest of the range.
Brick-built creatures are more fragile than moulded figures during rough play, particularly at the neck and tail. That is the trade-off for poseability and display quality, and any joints that loosen over time can simply be reseated.
