ARK Therapeutic - proBarbell™ Lip Closure & Strength Tool - Dark Blue Lighter

The ARK proBarbell™ in Dark Blue is the lighter-weight version of ARK's oral motor exercise tool for working on lip closure, lip strength and endurance.

Designed to be held between the lips, the proBarbell provides weighted resistance while keeping the exercise simple and controlled. The Dark Blue proBarbell is the lighter of the two available resistance levels and is the recommended starting point before progressing to the heavier Lime Green proBarbell.

Lighter Level for Lip Exercises

The Dark Blue proBarbell has weighted ends equivalent to approximately one quarter on each end. ARK designed the proBarbell as a purpose-made alternative to the traditional therapy exercise of attaching coins to a tongue depressor.

The flat centre section is placed between the lips and held in position using the lips only — not the teeth. The weighted ends provide resistance for exercises targeting lip closure, strength and endurance.

Progressive Oral Motor Exercise

ARK recommends beginning with the Dark Blue proBarbell. Once the lighter weight can be managed appropriately, the exercise can progress to the separately available Lime Green proBarbell, which provides a heavier level of resistance.
